THE LYCEE FRANCOIS MAGENDIE is a state high school located in the the Bordeaux city centre.

It is composed of about 150 personnel (managerial, teaching, health, maintenance and administration staff) and provides education for nearly 1100 pupils in 33 classes.

  • ES: Economics

    • Magendie is also an international school: the OIB sections (Option Internationale au Baccalauréat) :
     2 international sections (American and Spanish)

    2 European sections (English and Italian)

  • A vocational school:
    5th, 6th and upper 6th forms leading to a Baccalauréat technologique STI (GNVQ in Applied Arts)

  • Post-A level education:
    with a first and second year leading to a Brevet de technicien supérieur ACI (Assistant in industrial creation)

    A wide range of foreign languages are taught: (English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Hebrew)

    DAY-STUDENTS:
     Lunch is served at a self-service restaurant within the school premises. Registration is annual, a lump sum is fixed per term and payable in advance.

    ACCOMMODATION:
    When school starts in September 2004, the school will offer boarding facilities at the Lycée Toulouse Lautrec (rue Joseph Abria, close to Magendie). Our school will dispose of 75 places for girls and 25 places for boys. This facility is reserved for the students in Applied Arts, the 2 international sections (OIB) and the Italian European section. Places are allotted depending on the distance from the family's home and family income. The boarding school is closed at the week-ends, on bank holidays and school mid-term and summer holidays. Registration is annual, a lump sum is payable per term in advance.
